Gayhurst boys reap their harvest

Posted by Greg Burns on Oct 29, 08 02:24 PM in People

GX-Gayhurst-Harvest.jpgSmall boys at a new nursery at Gayhurst School in Gerrards Cross marked the end of their first half term with a harvest festival.
The three and four year olds created their own Autumn frieze, pictured here behind them, using leaves.

And they were visited by Rev William Mason, the vicar of Holy Trinity Church in Penn Street, whom they entertained with various rhymes and a song about Autumn. They in turn were entertained by Rev Mason's companion, Timmy the tiger.
Children in the junior school marked the bringing in of the harvest by distributing harvest boxes to elderly people in residential homes in Chalfont St Peter including Edith Bell House in Rickmansworth Lane, while boys in the senior school are filling shoe boxes with gifts for distribution to children in need by the charity Samaritans' Purse.
The picture shows, left to right: Enzo Dolan, Jonty Hughes-Penney, Ben Shackleton, Alexander Sayers, Zack Everett, Jacques Edwards, Finlay Harris, Solomon Williams, Lily Barker and Zach Templeman.
