Residents block developers

RESIDENTS living near Windsor Road, Gerrards Cross, have succeeded for the second time in preventing a property developer from building a new house in a back garden.
They said that new plans by developer Mentmore Homes to build a detached house on land behind numbers 59 to 63 Windsor Road were no better than plans already refused.

Eleven households objected to the plans which they said would result in loss of privacy and day light and were out of keeping with the area.
The developer had tried to overcome previous objections by introducing into the plans a wooden gate in order to "retain the illusion of spaciousness."
Martin Cushard of Meadway Park told councillors at a planning meeting of South Bucks District Council last week: "An illusion is not spaciousness. The design is not compatible, especially to properties in Manor Lane and Meadway Park."

We'd like to hear from you.
