St Mary's School Christmas fair

GX-St-Marys-Fair.jpgFace-painting and nail baths were among the treats on offer at St Mary's School, Gerrards Cross, when it held its Christmas Fair on Saturday, November 22.

GX-Waitrose.jpgPlans have been submitted to South Bucks District Council for a proposed Gerrards Cross Waitrose store after months of delays.
The plans for the 13,500 sq ft store in Station Road, are also set to include 31 residential apartments which would face onto Oak End Way.
Earlier this year, there was speculation that Waitrose and developer Frontier Estates was set to pull out of the plan after a disagreement arose between them and SBDC over parking.

Final event of church event

The final event in Gerrards Cross methodist church's centenary year of celebrations is set to take place next weekend.
On Saturday December 6, the church in Oak End Way will host a concert given by the St Sepulchre Singers, who regularly appear on Songs of Praise.
The event starts at 7pm and tickets cost £8 and be booked by calling Phil on 01494 676029.

22302068 Gerrards-Cross-2.jpgThis weekend sees the public exhibition aimed at protecting Gerrards Cross from developers come to the village.
South Bucks District Council (SBDC) has drawn up a plan to extend the village's conservation area, but the plan has been put out to consultation and is dependent on the support of Gerrards Cross residents if it is to be implemented.

While many people are rapidly cutting back spending in the economic downturn, it appears one area where money is still being spent in on financial advice.
A financial advisor has spoken of his surprise in finding his business has grown during what has been one of the worst financial quarters for many years.

Actor Geoffrey Palmer will be signing copes of 'Rhyme and Reason' at Gerrards Cross Bookshop on Saturday, November 29 from 10.30am - 12.00 noon.
The anthology of prose and poetry, contains a collection of writings sent in by local people and is being sold in aid of the Iain Rennie Hospice.

The Girlguides are having their Christmas Fair on 29th November at The Guide Hut, Station Road.
It will run from 10am to 12pm and there will be a raffle, basket and bottle tombolas, homemade cakes and various stalls run by Rainbows, Brownies and Girlguides.

What is your favourite subject in school?
Melissa Buckingham, seven: "Maths because I'm really good at it and I like doing sums."
Ella Patrick, six: "I like maths as well because I like everything about it. I think all the lessons we do are really fun."
Lavinia Champion, six: "Art because I like painting. Once we painted a picture of a peacock and it was really good."
Summer Hicks, seven: "I like art because I really enjoy making things and doing lots of drawing and painting."
Isobel Thornton, six: "Technology because I really like all the activities we do and I think that they are fun."
Emma Beaken, seven: "Art because we get to do interesting stuff and I like using the paint."
