GX-Chris-Southam.jpgGuides gathered in Stoke Poges at the weekend to recognise a special achievement by one of its leaders.
Chris Southam joined the group in 1979 as a voluntary first aid trainer, but eventually stayed on and became the group's Brown Owl.
Around 180 Brownies and Guides past and present attended the event held on Sunday at the St Andrews Church Centre to pay tribute to Mrs Southam.

She was Brown Owl to some of the present Guides' mothers, and memories were shared at the celebration on Sunday.
The afternoon began with a gymnastic event and poetry recitals, as well as a Brownie rap, written and performed by some of the current group.
Mrs Southam was given the Buckinghamshire Guiding 30 Year Service Award, and was also presented with a special national award from Girlguiding UK in recognition of her achievement.
She was later given two cakes made by the Brownies and Guides to mark the occasion.

We'd like to hear from you.
