A FIREFIGHTER from Gerrards Cross is set to take part in the gruelling London marathon in order to raise money for charity.
Denis Melia, watch manager at Gerrards Cross fire station, will run the gruelling 26 mile course on Sunday, in order to raise money for the Action on Pre-Eclampsia charity.

A CHARITY race night held in Gerrards Cross has helped raise more than £1,000 for charity.
The event was held to raise cash for Making a Difference (MAD) a Chalfont St Peter based group who help raise funds for vulnerable children in Uganda.

BUCKINGHAMSHIRE County Council (BCC) have agreed to widen the catchment area of a grammar school to include Gerrards Cross and Denham following the row about school places.
In March this year, parents of boys who had passed their 11 plus exams were left shocked to find that their children had not been given places at their first or even second choice grammar schools.

On Friday 20th March, a team of four parents was invited from each local school to participate in the Gerrards Cross and Chalfonts - Schools' Invitational.

THE EASTER holidays are proving more fun than usual for two little girls after a swing with a difference was installed at a playground in Gerrards Cross.
