Race night raises cash for Ugandan kids
A CHARITY race night held in Gerrards Cross has helped raise more than £1,000 for charity.
The event was held to raise cash for Making a Difference (MAD) a Chalfont St Peter based group who help raise funds for vulnerable children in Uganda.
More than 100 people attended the event at the Gerrards Cross Memorial Centre at the end of March, which was organised and sponsored by legal firm BP Collins and accountants Nunn Hayward and eventually raised £1,700 for the charity.
David Stanning and David Jordan, who work for the two firms, came up with the idea when MAD had its launch party at the end of last year.
Mr Stanning said: "This was a great opportunity for us and Nunn Hayward to work and play together for this good cause and to invite business clients, friends and family to join us.
"We are also grateful to the many local businesses who donated raffle prizes for the event, which helped us achieve such a substantial sum of money to donate to MAD."
