60 years of togetherness

A GERRARDS Cross couple are celebrating after reaching the milestone of their diamond wedding anniversary.
Dennis and Winnifred Wakefield were married on May 21 1949, having first met when they were 14 and 15-years-old.

They married in Greenford when Winnifred was 17 and Dennis was 18, and eventually moved to Chorleywood, before relocating to Gerrards Cross, where they have remained ever since.
They have three grown up children, Peter, Susan and Stephen, and became active members of Gerrards Cross golf club.
Mrs Wakefield said: "I think I would say that the reason we have stayed together for so long is that we have done most things together throughout our lives. We even worked together for the engineering company that my husband set up, so the majority of the time we have been married, we have been doing things together."

We'd like to hear from you.
