It's a dog's life at Kingscote School
CHILDREN and staff at a Gerrards Cross school have been celebrating after raising more £10,000 for charity.
Kingscote School in Oval Way have been able to make £10,000 for the Hearing Dogs for Deaf People charity thanks to a number of fund raising activities over the past few months.
At a special assembly held on Thursday last week, the children handed over a cheque for the money to Jenny Smith, a trustee of the charity.
The majority of the money was raised by 29 parents and staff taking part in a sponsored swim which saw them swimming the equivalent distance of the English Channel in a swimming pool.
Money was also raised by the boys doing good deeds to earn 20p pieces, painting pictures of the school to sell to parents and a charity morning held at the school.
The money will be used to train two new dogs for the charity, one of which will be called William, after William Dodd who was a pupil at the school before he died of cancer in 2000.
