Gang jailed after crime spree across county

A MAN from Iver has been jailed along with the rest of his gang for a series of robberies across Buckinghamshire and other counties earlier this year.
Matthew Stevens, 20, of Mansion Lane, as well as Darren Chadband, 39, Luke Cox, 18, and a 16-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, were all found guilty of conspiracy to commit robbery and possession of a firearm with intent to commit an indictable offence at Reading Crown Court on Friday, September 18.

The men were sentenced to a total of 30 years, and the 16-year-old received a two-year detention and training order in a young offenders' institution.
During February this year, the group went on a crime spree across Bucks, Berkshire and Hertfordshire, robbing a series of Coral's bookmakers, including the one in North Orbital Road, Denham.
Stevens and Cox were given a total of seven years in prison each, while Chadband was given 12 years for conspiracy to rob, and one one year for the firearm offence.
He also received a one year sentence for dangerous driving, bringing his total to 14 years in prison.
Chadband will also be banned from driving for six years when he is released from prison.
Det Insp Steve Armstead said: "We are very pleased with this significant sentencing of a team of violent and increasingly desperate robbers, who finally resorted to the possession of a firearm to enforce their activities.
"I hope that the sentencing will go some way to give closure to the numerous shop employees who suffered at the hands of these men.
"We can only speculate as to how many similar premises would have been targeted by this prolific team of robbers.
"The arrest and conviction of the men has clearly prevented any further such offences."
