School in shock after teacher's death

PUPILS, staff and parents at a school in Gerrards Cross are in mourning following the death of a hugely popular teacher.
Roberta Galustian, who was 56, died on Thursday last week at Wexham Park Hospital following a short battle with cancer.

She had been a teacher at St Mary's girls school in Packhorse Road for seven years, and had taught mainly the younger children in years three, four and five.
A letter has been sent out to parents to tell them of the tragedy, and the school is now planning a tribute to Mrs Galustian, to take place in the coming weeks.
Fanny Balcombe, headmistress at the school, said: "Mrs Galustian has very sadly passed away after a short illness. She was an absolutely outstanding teacher and was loved by everyone who she taught and came into contact with.
"She will be very sadly missed by all the staff and all her pupils here. We will be arranging something to pay tribute to her memory soon, but nothing definite has been decided yet."
Parents at the school were shocked to hear the news.
One said: "This has been a huge surprise. Mrs Galustian was very popular with all the girls at the school, and was a big help to all of them.
"The girls are very shocked and don't know what to make of it. It's a terrible, terrible shame, and we're all thinking of her family at the moment. It's difficult to explain to the children about what has happened."
Mrs Galustian's daughter Rebecca said: "She died on September 17 with all her family at her side.
"I'd like to thank the school for all that they've done. I know that she was well liked by all the pupils there."

We'd like to hear from you.
