Pinewood in world record attempt

PINEWOOD Studios is planning on breaking a world record for the biggest film showing ever as part of its new drive-in season.
The site in Pinewood Road, Iver Heath, is hoping to break the record when it shows the Tom Cruise blockbuster Mission: Impossible on Saturday.

So far, the largest film screenings ever have been shown in Norway and Japan.
In 1996, the Oslo Spektrum's showing of Independence Day was projected onto a 40.24m screen, while a showing of Speed Racer in Tokyo in 2008 was shown on a 37m wide screen.
Pinewood is aiming to break this with its screening of Mission: Impossible, which was made at the site in the 1990s.
Paul Wigfield, who is managing the project, said: "We're projecting onto the world's largest screen at Pinewood, so it's a fantastic opportunity for us to demonstrate the very latest projection technology.
"Mission: Impossible seems the perfect choice to beat the existing world record and it will look absolutely sensational."
The event starts on Saturday, November 7 at 4.45pm, and tickets are available at www.seetickets.com
