Christmas festival a big success

CROWDS flocked to the Gerrards Cross Christmas Festival despite heavy rain threatening the event.
The annual festival took place on Wednesday last week and proved as popular as ever despite the downpours.

The event started with choir singing from children at the Gerrards Cross Church of England School and St Mary's Junior School in Station Road.
The festival, which was organised by the Rotary Club of Gerrards Cross and Chalfont St Peter, also saw crowds out in force enjoying the offers and hospitality of many of the shops and businesses that stayed open late especially for the evening.
Father Christmas was also on hand to talk to youngsters in his grotto, and there was an appearance from Rotarian the horse, the rotary club's honorary member from the Riding for the Disabled charity, who are set to be one of the rotary club's main charity recipients next year.
John Hedley of the rotary club said: "In spite of the weather, the evening had a good positive atmosphere with lots of people about, once more proving that we Brits thrive in adversity."

We'd like to hear from you.
