Body found near M40

Posted by Jack Abell on Jan 14, 10 10:20 AM in Local Authority

THE body of a man was found in Denham this week near to a busy motorway.
The grim discovery was made by police on Tuesday at a slip road at Junction One of the M40 at 12.16pm.

The death is being treated as unexplained by police until a post mortem has taken place, and the man has yet to be identified.
Police closed the hard shoulder and one lane of the motorway at the point where the A40 joins the M40.
A section of road at the Denham roundabout leading to the motorway was also closed for several hours following the incident.
Keith Grant, 45, who was stuck in the traffic, said: "The place was full of police cars, so it was clear that something major was going on, although I couldn't make out what it was at the time.
"The traffic jam was huge, especially around rush hour. I was stuck just near to the Denham roundabout, but I don't know how bad things were on the motorway.
"It's crazy to think that the road had been closed because a dead body had been found. There were a huge number of police around though, so it was obvious that the jam wasn't just being caused by a car accident."
Police have so far not released any more details about the find.
They are appealing to the public to get in touch with them if they witnessed anything in connection with the incident, or if they have information about the unexplained death.
Anyone who can help is being asked to call the 24 hour police enquiry centre on 0845 8 505 505, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
