Run down pub to become apartment and shop complex

A DILAPIDATED pub in Denham could soon be renovated to the delight of residents in the area.
The Inn on the Green which is in North Orbital Road, could be turned into a new site comprising of four shops, a neighbourhood police office, and 36 apartment blocks.

The pub has been closed for several years and has become extremely run down in that time, with many in the village regarding it as an eyesore.
It has also been the victim of vandalism throughout the period, and has suffered smashed windows and graffiti, leading to large sections of it being boarded up.
However, an application has been submitted to South Bucks District Council (SBDC) by developers Brick Crest Ltd, who are hoping to redevelop the site.
A decision on the plans will be made by SBDC's planning committee in February, and many villagers in the area are hoping that it will be approved.
One, who lives near to the site, said: "I really hope that permission for the development is granted.
"It was sad to lose the pub, but since it shut down it has become an ugly building, and has become overgrown with weeds.
"Also, it attracts a lot of vandals, which is horrible for the people who live near to it. If it was renovated, it would be a very good thing for the area.
"The vandalism around the site would stop and we would be left with new shops and a base for the police in the village, which would be a very good thing for us. We are all keeping our fingers crossed."
