Youngsters get their thinking caps on

YOUNGSTERS from schools around Buckinghamshire had their brain power tested at a special thinking day held in Gerrards Cross.

The annual event, which took place at St Mary's School, Packhorse Road, saw pupils aged between eight and 10 from 14 schools in the area taking part in the contest.

There were several rounds in the competition, including a map teaser, a numerical crossword, a tower building contest, an invention design and making tangram pictures.

Vanessa Ovington, marketing manager at the school, said: "The scores were very close and for the second year running a tie breaker was need to separate second and third places, but in the end, Robertswood School of Chalfont St Peter came first, St Andrew's School second and High March School from Beaconsfield third."

The prizes were a selection of board games, which the winning teams took back to their schools.

We'd like to hear from you.
