THE leader of Buckinghamshire County Council (BCC) has come under fire for suggesting people from the north of England should consider doing menial work usually done by immigrants.

Tributes for Nicole and Casey

TRIBUTES have flooded in to Nicole Wooden and Casey Robson from family and friends.
The two girls, both aged 20, were killed in a car accident in the early hours of Friday morning on the A413 between Denham and Chalfont St Peter.
The girls were from Hayes and attended the same secondary school.

TWO young women have been killed in a huge car accident on the A413 just five minutes after the car in which they were travelling was pulled over by police.
Nicole Wooden, 20, and Casey Robson, 20, were travelling home from Winkers nightclub in Chalfont St Peter in the early hours of Friday morning last week in a Renault Clio packed with six people.

TESCO in Gerrards Cross have pledged to offer ongoing support and help to the community after it opens its shop later this month.
Lizzie Field, manager of the shop, says that her and her staff will work to hard to build links with people in the village, as well as organisations, businesses and charities, as a way of making up for the disruption the building of the shop has caused.

Volunteers to run libraries

LIBRARIES across Buckinghamshire could soon be run by groups of volunteers in order to save Buckinghamshire County Council hundreds of thousands of pounds.
The libraries, which include ones in Chalfont St Peter, Gerrards Cross, Great Missenden, Farnham Common and Iver Heath, would become community partnerships under the scheme, which could save BCC almost £700,000.

Women dead after A413 smash

TWO young women have died in an horrific crash on the A413 this morning.
Police are now appealing for witnesses after a fatal collision in Denham this morning (12/11).
At about 2.40am, the emergency services were called to the scene of a single vehicle collision on the A413 Amersham Road, Denham.

TWO people have now been confirmed dead after the road accident on the A413 this morning.
Police have confirmed the fatalities, but no names have yet been released.
The road remains closed, with a diversion in place through Gerrards Cross.
